Treasures of Aztec
Treasures of Aztec Review
For all intents and purposes Treasures of Aztec is a megaways title. PG Soft seems to have avoided paying the licence fee to BTG by simply not using the trademarked name of the engine. As is common for these kinds of games, the bet range is somewhat limited. You can place bets between 20p and £20 per spin, and the RTP is a pretty decent 96.71 %.
The reels are set in front of an Aztec temple that is kind of blurred out to keep the focus where it belongs. Visually, there is nothing too impressive to look forward to here, but it gets the job done. The Wilds on the Way feature will sometimes help keep your cascades going, and the bonus round can be quite lucrative due to the fast-increasing and unlimited win multiplier.
Treasures of Aztec slot Features
Similar to most Megaways games out there, Treasures of Aztec comes with a Cascading Wins feature. This means that winning symbols are removed from the reels, and new symbols drop down to fill the void. This can lead to many wins in the same round, as the process keeps going as long as you keep landing new winners.
You will also benefit from a progressive multiplier here, both in the base game and during the bonus round. The win multiplier starts at 1x, and it increases with +1 for each cascading win. There is no upper limit as to how high this multiplier can go, but it will reset when you hit a non-winning spin.
You will see some symbol land with a silver frame at times. These symbols will transform into random symbols with a golden border after partaking in a win. If the very same golden border symbols partake in another cascading win, they will all turn into wild symbols. This is called the Wilds on the Way feature.
Finally, you will get 10 free spins if you land 4 scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. Each additional scatter above the minimum of 4 gives you 2 extra free spins. The bonus round plays out pretty much like the base game, with one important upgrade. You will start with a 2x progressive win multiplier now, and it increases by +2 for each win. The multiplier does not reset on non-winning spins in the bonus round.
The 200 Spins Treasures of Aztec slot Experience
We managed to get to a 16x multiplier during the bonus round, and how much we won can be seen in the highlights video below. We have included a few spins from the base game also, so you can see how it all works. The bonus round is triggered around 20 seconds into the video, and we got 12 free spins from the 5 scatters we landed.
Review Summary
Treasures of Aztec is a pretty standard megaways copycat, except for the fact that the bonus round multiplier increases with +2 instead of the usual +1. The Wilds on the Way feature also adds some novelty to the mix, and it can come in handy at times. The win multiplier makes the base game a bit more interesting than usual also, and the bonus round comes with a pretty solid potential.
Pros
- Wilds on the Way feature
- Base game progressive win multiplier
- Bonus round where the multiplier increases by +2 and doesn’t reset
